In order to optimize the IOT process and at the same time provide operators with a common look and feel to the IOT documentation they receive from their suppliers the NVIOT Forum has developed a set of common documents and templates. These are recommended to be used by the NVIOT Forum members in their IOT activities. For more information on each document please refer below:
IOT Methodology
The NVIOT Forum has developed a standard approach to IOT which is captured in the IOT Methodology document. This document defines the scope of IOT and also describes the IOT process in detail. The IOT process defined by the NVIOT Forum is technology agnostic and has been successfully used by the NVIOT Forum members for many years. This document is owned and maintained by the Steering Committee.
Joint Test Plan Template
A Joint Test Plan (JTP) template is used by the NVIOT Forum members to prepare a plan for a specific IOT test session. There are JTP templates prepared for each interface within the scope of the NVIOT Forum, which contain all the tests relevant for that interface. These templates have enabled the NVIOT Forum members to reduce the time spent preparing for an IOT test session.
In addition to the interface specific JTP templates the NVIOT Forum has also created and maintains a generic JTP template. This serves as the reference for the interface specific JTP templates and can also be used in the unlikely event that an interface specific JTP template is not available at the time of testing.
Joint Test Report Template
A Joint Test Report (JTR) template is used by the NVIOT Forum members to prepare a report for a specific IOT test session. There are JTR templates prepared for each interface within the scope of the NVIOT Forum. These templates have enabled the NVIOT Forum members to reduce the time spent finalising an IOT test session, and also provide operators with a common look and feel to the IOT documentation provided by their suppliers.
In addition to the interface specific JTR templates the NVIOT Forum has also created and maintains a generic JTR template. This serves as the reference for the interface specific JTR templates and can also be used in the unlikely event that an interface specific JTR template is not available at the time of testing.
Joint Interoperability Statement Template
The Joint Interoperability Statement (JIS) template has been created for the situation where it has been deemed that IOT testing is not necessary, e.g. due to no evolution on a particular interface in a new software release. This template provides operators with a common look and feel to the IOT documentation provided by their suppliers.
