• One of the key outputs from the NVIOT Forum are Master Test Catalogues (MTCs). These documents are test specifications which capture the tests possible in an IOT environment for a specific network interface. The MTCs represent a superset of tests and they are used by the NVIOT Forum members as a reference point when planning an IOT test session.
  • The Steering Committee defines which interfaces are worked on, and the roadmap for their creation, based on market requirements. It is then the responsibility of the relevant Work Group to prepare the MTC, and maintain it once released. It should be noted that NVIOT work, due to the need to have documentation available before IOT starts, may be ahead of customer requirements.
  • MTCs are grouped into various technologies, including but not limited to 2G&3G, IMS and LTE/SAE. Within each technology group there are multiple MTCs covering the required interfaces. Examples of interfaces currently covered by NVIOT Forum work per technology are as follows:
    • 2G&3G: A, C&D, E&G, Gb, Gn&Gp, Gr, Gs, Iu, Iuh, Iur, Nb, Nc
    • IMS: Cx, ISC, Mg, Mj, Mr, Mw, Sh
    • LTE/SAE: S1, S6a, S3, S4, S5&S8, S10, S11, SGs, X2

  • It should be noted that the above is not a complete list, it merely represents a subset of the current status and is subject to change.
